Petersen Automotive Museum is one of the largest and No. 1 automotive museums in the museum in world which is located at 6060 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, California. It’s a non-profit organization; if you are an automobile enthusiast, you must visit this museum. You will find out all the information on automobile history and they also conduct educational programs related to automobiles.

The museum was founded in the year 1994, 11 June by Robert E. Petersen who was a magazine publisher along with his wife Margie. Petersen Automotive Museum has an extensive collection of vehicles on display around over 300 which stand in around 25 galleries while others are kept in the building basement. This is undoubtedly heaven for any automobile expert or enthusiast as you will see all types of latest and old-school masterpieces in one place.

Every floor contains different things related to automobiles such as the ground floor is mainly for automobile artistry which showcases all kinds of expensive automobiles in one place. The second floor is mainly for industrial engineering which includes performance, designs, and a collection of teaching exhibits other special displays that are displayed on this floor are motorcycles, hot rods, racing, and customs vehicles. The third floor is also related to the history of automobiles just gives some more attention to the Southern California car culture.

If you are a fan of Porche or vintage cars then expect to see some of the rarest cars at this museum which you will not see anywhere in the world such as the 1939 Porsche 64s there are only two cars in the whole world. Not only Western car collections but also other big Eastern automobile industries (Japanese automotive industry) collections are also shown in this museum.

Vehicle collections are not limited to adults there is also an exhibit for children’s racecars so if you are coming along with your children then they are surely gonna love this place. On the 75th anniversary of Porsche, they had a year-long exhibit just for the Porsche automobiles.

Many of the famous cars that were used in big Hollywood moves, TV shows or used by big personalities can be seen here easily such as 1967 Ford GT40 Mk III, 1956 Jaguar XKSS (Owned by Steve McQueen), NASCAR Herbie (From Herbie: Fully Loaded Movie), Ferrari 308 GTS (Used by Tom Selleck in Magnum), 1964 Chevrolet Impala lowrider which was owned by Jesse Valadez, DeLorean time machine (Movie Back to the Future), Corwin Getaway (compact mid-engined car) photographer Cliff Hall designed this car, Suki’s hot pink Honda S2000 (From 2 Fast 2 Furious Movie), Plymouth XNR which was built by Gotham Garage on Car Masters: Rust to Riches, 1992 Batmobile (Movie Batman Returns), 2011 Ford Fiesta (Ken Block’s Gymkhana 3), Lightning McQueen (From Disney Pixar’s Cars film series), Luke Skywalker’s land speeder (Star Wars), Elvis Presley De Tomaso Pantera.
