Battleship USS Iowa Museum is a well-renowned museum that displays objects that are related to ships that travel in oceans and seas. This museum is located at the Port of Los Angeles, California. The lead ship of the Iowa class, the USS Iowa (BB-61), is the museum’s major artifact.

The USS Iowa is mainly known as the battleship of Presidents who served in military operations during World War II, the Korean War, and the Cold War. This museum is highly recommended by visitors for those people who are interested in  WWII history and battleships. People of age groups can visit this museum there’s no age bar.

If you have limited mobility then there will be a little problem for you while visiting this museum as there are certain narrow and steep stairways that are challenging for people with mobility issues. You will have multiple experiences in this museum as you will see all the big guns (16″/50 caliber), ammunition, ammunition bunkers, 1940s computer guidance system, ship armor, gun turrets, etc.

You will get a lot of information from guided tours regarding this ship’s historical events and how it all started in the year 1943. People can see and interact with all the artifacts which was employed during those events. Visitors can learn all about the history of this ship and the important role it played in various conflicts and wars including World War II, the Korean War, and the Cold War.

This ship played a very important role along with other ships of its kind in shaping many big historical events. Visitors can look at all the instruments inside of the ship their uses and how they impacted those historical events. You will discover many hidden secrets of this ship such as the instruments used during historic events, and will be able to understand the circumstances and challenges faced by the crew members of the ship.

The massive size of the USS Iowa and the top-level engineering shows how advanced this naval ship design was according to its time. There are five levels in this ship that visitors can explore but keep in mind that the stairs throughout the ships are very steep and narrow. There’s a special exhibit called Lost at Sea that shows all the different ships that were destroyed.

It’s better if you come here along with your family as you will be able to spend some good time with them while learning about the history of the USS Iowa.
